05|29|2003 - New Songs
sitting in a room with my cats, writing new songs for a new record. My new word for "Good" is "Funky". My new word for "Bad" is "Corporate". Sometimes I come out and write with my friends, but I'm mostly alone. My favorite part is when I bring the new songs to my band. That's when they come to life. If I get lucky.
Brannen Temple, my drummer friend from Texas, will come to New York to play with me and Derek Layes at the 55 Bar on the 10th of June and at the Living Room the next day. For the weekend, we'll go to play in the Rochester Jazz Festival and then it's back into my cave for more composing.
Seems like summer is finally coming. I got to hurry to finish writing so I can come out and play.
